Are you looking for a fun service oriented activity for your school, youth group, or company? We would love to come alongside your group to create unique blanket bundles to benefit local foster care or domestic violence shelter organizations.
We divide the larger group up into teams of 4-6. Each team selects the fabric (and stuffed animal) to create a tie blanket and bundle with.
Once your team's blanket is completed, we show your group how to burrito your stuffed animal and a small fidget toy up. The bundle will get transported a few times before it's final destination so we need to make sure it's bundled up tight!
Amazingly unique, soft cuddly bundles ready to arrive to a Foster Child or child arriving into a Domestic Violence Shelter that bring an immense amount of comfort during a very scary transition. It also gives them something just for them to keep.

We do a couple small to large scale events per year in which we provide ALL the materials -- all you need to do is provide the eager helpers to put them together! If we have already done our event quota for the year, we are happy to still work with your group but ask that you provide fleece.
We have a few different variations, but our most common includes a 2yd tie blanket, quality stuffed animal, and popper.
Absolutely! However, we require it to be BRAND NEW and in 2yd cuts.
Nope! It is our main service activity, but we are always open to other creative ideas from the community.
Absolutely!
There is no limit. We are open to working with small as well as large.
The average is two hours, but we are happy to adjust to meet your group's time table. Blankets average around 25 minutes each for a team of four that has made them in the past.
If we are providing the materials, we need at least a month's notice to schedule with you.
Yes! Our director and staff are happy to mentor a few seniors per year for their service projects. We will work alongside of you start to finish providing support to your project. Our most recent senior was Elizabeth Ripple with Jackson JAGS. She did the media/flyers to fundraise the fleece through her district and flyers to organize the high school volunteers for the event. We provided the rest.
Please contact us by winter break. This gives us enough time to provide the support and planning needed to help.
We are available to schedule throughout the week. We have done both afternoon and evening events. We do our best to NOT schedule on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Contact us to find out more on any particular dates you may have in mind.
We accept friendly blanket making volunteers for events, however, because we work with primarily children you may be subject to a background check at your own expense. We can teach you to be a pro at Tie Blankets! See our volunteer page for more information and to contact us.
Any that can independently use scissors to cut strips in the fleece material. We have worked primarily with middle schoolers, high schoolers, and adults; however, we have worked with younger students in elementary school through CAST groups.
Absolutely! Please contact us for upcoming opportunities; or, if you are a company inquiring about a corporate sponsorship of an event like this, you can use the form on our Corporate Giving page.
Working with the Children's Toy Fund for my senior service project was a great experience! Ashley and the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful, and they were always willing to work with me to carry out my project. Ashley came alongside of me each step of the way and helped me feel good about the process. While mentoring me, she let me take the lead in planning my project, which allowed me to learn valuable leadership and organizational skills. I was able to do something that helps kids while learning along the way - it was awesome!
